In Italia le Poste Italiane hanno suddiviso in 3 categorie le buste consentite

+ PICCOLO standard: 

  × altezza:min 90 mm, max 120 mm,

  × lunghezza: min 140 mm, max 235 mm,

  × spessore: min 0,15 mm, max 5 mm,

  × peso: min 3 gr, max 50 gr,

+ MEDIO standard: 

  × altezza: min 90 mm, max 250 mm, 

  × lunghezza: min 140 mm, max 353 mm,

  × spessore: min 0,15 mm, max 25 mm, 

  × peso: min 3 gr, max 2000 gr,

+ EXTRA standard: 

  × altezza: min 90 mm, max 250 mm,

  × lunghezza: min 140 mm, max 353 mm,

  × spessore: min 0,15 mm, max 25 mm,

  × peso: min 3 gr, max 2000 gr,
